Cold Wars 2010! Yes, a blast! hadn’t been to a major con in two years and I knew it was time. I bought some great stuff, had fun, talked shop, and ran a couple of games using Disposable Heroes. Take a look at some pictures of my experience! I ran a desert scenario where the2 squads of Brits, one squad of USA and two Honey tanks needed to attack three objectives while two squads of Germans with an HMG(entered late in game as it had some mechanical difficulties) and an anti-tank rifle that was found on the side of the road in the final turn and took one shot at a Honey but missed and finally a precious PAK 40 which was barely used as I allowed the group of veteran gamers to set up on their own without rolling for initiative as the game requires. Also, I could have used hidden movement for that PAK 40 set-up as well as the HMG. I will replay the scenario at both Little Wars and Recon to fine tune it for Historicon. I picked up a few things-A few Mariachi bands, The masked avenger(Not lone Ranger), Sgt Steele pack of GIS(AKA Sgt Rock and company) , A Tombstone pack, a Mexican peasant pack some Rat Patrol figures and some Turkish pirates! In the flea market I picked up 10 packs of Battle Honours(my favorite minis if you can believe it) for $25.00! I got Japs, Afrika Korps and Brits. The two former I was salivating for but the latter I had to accept. My nephew and son were both by my side which made it a great pleasure since I hadn’t seen my nephew since 2007! I am truly swamped at the moment with orders so I will try and keep my site going with pics and comments as we go.
