Pacific by Combatpainter

After a long hiatus from both the European theater and the Pacific I have revisited it. I chose very underrated set of castings-Battle Honours WW2 25mm.  I chose the japanes rifle pack with command i got at the flea market for $5. It contains 15 figures in a variety of poses. These are true gems! All I will need is a Jap army supplement from DH and I will be set to run games at Fall In, PA; Mil Con and Hurricon in Florida.

I have always enjoyed these sculpts which I have been painting on and off for close to ten years now, as a lot of work has been put into sculpting them. Each figures has well proportioned equipment, belts, and straps. All straps are raised nicely which allows a painter ample access to them by the brush. The faces are nicely sculpted. The poses are very symmetrical and realistic. Nothing is done in an awkward or overly exagerrated way. Most poses are right out of most pics, newsreels or documentaries. If you have been avoiding these cause they are undersized compared to the masses I suggest you take another look. They are a smallish in stature but large in quality.  I really would like to know who the sculptor is and learn about what he is up to. Most of Battle Honour’s lines are of this similar quality and they look to be done by the same sculptor.  Their ranges include almost every nationality and infantry support weapons are readily available as well as command and communication specialists.

    Hi
According to Mark Sims of Crusader minis, some of the BH WW2 range were his first sculpting commission.
When pressed he admitted he could not remember how much of the range had been sculpted by him, but he was surprised that he ever got another commission. I think the Japanese are my favourites from this range.
